- Children's thinking becomes more co-ordinated as their language develops.
- Their moral development continues with understanding concepts like right and wrong and fairness and forgiveness.
- They are noticing similarities and differences between boys and girls.
- They are being taught about life cycles at school, feelings and emotions and changes in families. They are also learning about what it means to be friends to each other.
- To be able to explain where living things come from
- To talk about different kinds of families
- To help them have names for and ways to express different feelings
- To talk to them about how precious their own body is
- To explain to them about things its ok to do in private, but not in public
- That boys and girls are different but can do lots of the same things
- To answer questions about things they've seen or heard in the world around them. Some examples of children's questions and suggested answers.
